Abstract

The tremendous development in digital technology has caused rapid changes in all fields, including education, especially in the field of Arabic language teaching. These developments in technology and rapid changes in the field of Arabic language teaching require learners to activate their learning strategies. This research aims to present the concept of language learning strategies, their classification according to O'Malley and Chamot, and the application of the "CANTIK" strategy in learning Arabic in the digital age. Language learning strategies are everything that learners do mentally and non-mentally in the context of language learning. O'Malley and Chamot classify language learning strategies into three types: metacognitive strategies, cognitive strategies, and socio-affective strategies. The word CANTIK is an Indonesian word meaning "beautiful" in Arabic and is an acronym for six words: Cerdas "smart", Aktif "active", Natural "natural", Teknologi "technology", Interaktif "interactive-collaborative", and Kreatif "creative-fun". Each of these six strategies is best implemented when integrated with digital technologies and supported by artificial intelligence.
