Utilization of ChatGPT for Arabic Digital Media Development

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially Generative AI, has opened up new opportunities in the development of digital learning media, including in Arabic language learning. One of the technologies with great potential is ChatGPT,, which can generate a variety of content based on user instructions (prompts). This article aims to describe the use of ChatGPT in the development of Arabic digital media, identify its forms and benefits, and analyze the challenges that need to be considered in its implementation. This research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method. Data were obtained from various national and international scientific articles, proceedings, books, and documents relevant to ChatGPT, Artificial Intelligence, Arabic language learning, and digital media development. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and concluding, while data validity is strengthened through source triangulation. The results of the study show that ChatGPT can be used to help develop various Arabic digital media, such as interactive digital modules, presentations, learning videos, infographics, digital LKPD, question banks, educational games, and digital-based evaluations. ChatGPT also helps improve the efficiency of learning tool preparation, enrich media variety, support learning differentiation, increase teacher creativity, and facilitate independent and project-based learning. However, its implementation faces several challenges, especially related to information accuracy, Arabic grammatical accuracy, dialect and cultural context variation, reliance on AI, educator AI literacy, prompt engineering, ethics, and content validation. Therefore, ChatGPT needs to be positioned as a digital tool or assistant, not as a substitute for the teacher's role. Teachers still have a central role as learning designers, validators, editors, and evaluators to ensure that the media developed is in accordance with the learning goals and characteristics of students.
